Alcohol Use Disorder is enhanced with the goal to complete mandatory counseling for substance use as a means of pre-trial intervention. The objective is to provide an understanding of how alcohol consumption is resulting failure to fulfill obligations (APA, 2022) which contributes to anxiety. With client alignment, administer an Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) which identifies early detection of problematic drinking patterns and behaviors (Jackson-Cherry & Erford, 2018). Interventions of Cognitive Therapy (CT) utilizing verbal interventions like Socratic questioning which provide the opportunity to examine distorted thoughts and dysfunctional beliefs (Murdock, 2017) with rational analysis of cognitive content (Yilmaz et al., 2025) will continue. CT behavioral experiments (BEs) will also be used to modify anxiety related beliefs. Explore therapy sessions to be scheduled the same day anxiety-provoking situation to test negative beliefs. Reframing would also be discussed to view situations in a positive way. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program clients how to practice mindful breathing, mindful yoga postures, and mindful daily activities. MBSR provides treatment for a wide range of physical and mental health disorders (Gehart, 2024).
